Me and Emilee Seymour have an art blog, by the way, and it is here.
We're in need of a few titles yet, if you are inspired to submit copy in exchange for kudos.
Bayside tour begins tonight. Cleveland. Backstage looks like my high school's drama room. Secondhand, overly plush upholstery and lollipops in a dish. Someone's "Happy Birthday Dad" Costco cake is sitting sadly beside me. It says hi. It just asked me what a "blog" is.

haha.
alas, I'm so close to cleveland, but have no ride.
:[
tell the cake I say hi too.
To go through all the artwork that hasn't been showing up for the past months and months in one sitting is a bit overwhelming.
I swear I've tried to reach this page before, but it would always re-direct itself to some other page. None the less, it's great.
Someone needs sleep...or company, haha. Make that cake happy before it is devoured.
And I just spent a good half hour reading/looking at all those blog entries. This may sound corny, but thank you (and Emilee) for inspiring my day.
Gotta say, "I love your work!"
Whoa. Blog explosion. Who knew?
Ew, store-bought cakes. Be seeing you tomorrow.
Uh, Shawn, I don't think that you should be talking to cakes.
You're in Cleveland? That is so close to where I live. How did I not know about that show? Ugh.
I'm hoping to make it to the next show in this state (NC) but no promises.
Maybe I can talk my brother in to taking me to an NY show... thus making my first trip to NY amazing. ^.^
Either way- Have loads of fun.
Oxen is always amazing. But I didn't have to tell you what you already knew.
i missed you on friday at cal u
the fist matches headlining show that i could have gone to and i missed it
i am upset with myself...
Awe, the poor cake is lonely, so it resorts to talking to humans! Ah, it gets to the best of us.
And I love the art blog, glad it's back up. And oh, titles? Why not for art and photo pieces, "thought(s) without words" ? Or something along those lines.
See you, Jon, Matt, and Dylan on the 22nd!
i checked out the blog.
marvelous stuff.
have a day.
Tour sounds sad.
I don't think I'll make it out this time, Tuscon and Oklahoma City are a bit too far from ABQ :(
good luck though
I WILL SEE YOU ON NOVEMBER 15TH, SIR.
And I'm bringing a shitload of my friends who have no idea who you guys are. Good times.
In themed dramatic tones! Due to an (assumed) spiked pumpkin spice latte I cannot stop laughing at others' presumably funny and-not-funny things, or nothing in particular! Ha! But I'd definitely join in talking to a cake about now.
Ohh, caffeine!

P.s. Come home!
P.s.s. ...But do enjoy the tour 'till such things.
seems i'm not the only person missing out on the show tonight. :(
i'm trying to figure out what the hell is going on in the profile picture on the oxen page. haha.
That poor little cake. Try to break it gently, Shawn.
I do actually read Emilee and your blog. More art for the brain is a good thing.
Also, I'll give the obligatory message. PLEASE PLAY WHAT KATIE SAID IN SPANGLISH ON 20 OCTOBER AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL.
Much love, Shawn. Have fun on tour.
...once a muffin told me I was fat. So I gave it to my friend who happily gobbled it up. I guess some muffins are just hard to please.
my muffin's not hard to please, hey hey hey
brings new meaning to being "loud, and one" eh?
O_o
AH-hahahahahahahaha!
Wowzza! The art, amazing.
If the cake starts to cry just tell it "At least you don't have frosting made from avocado"
Heh.
please come to montreal. we have very good food and loving crowds.

You and Emilee are so talented. And I'm loving the working link. I haven't been able to go there in a while.
And tell the cake I feel bad for it, even if cocsco cakes are pretty bad.
And thank you for coming to the east, it's been to long. I'll be seeing you soon. =]
lol. Hi, cake!
so what exactly does "supporting" bayside mean?
Hope you had fun talking to the cake. and that you didn't eat it...
Amzing stuff sir and madame
awsome artwork, I love it and wow...some of those photos were so creative and funny...I seriously love the piano that ate the car or something like that...that was my favorite. Man Shawn, I'm sad...I was going to see you and the guys and was going to meet Dylan on Nov. 12th and now I can't make it, this sucks!!! Well hopefully I'll see you guys another time, my hope is to move back to Florida in a year for another work year at Disney so hopefully I'll run into you guys there at the house of blues or something, anyway...beautiful artwork...I love it! p.s. random question, do you like the show Pushing Daisys...it's odd, I'm odd and well .... your odd so I was just wondering?

fyi-i am enthralled by you! i have never seen you guys until cleveland show yesterday. awesome!
Gotta say-
Montreal does have pretty awesome food.
Vegan brownie cupcakes are better than cake, anytime. Thanks for an awesome weekend, see you next month.
It was an amazing show..I was the guy who you were going to play acoustic for but the band wanted to watch the debates.. thanks so much for talking and trying man!
anyone wanna give me a ride from vancouver to seattle on the 17th? =.= no ones letting me take greyhound anymore...
When I think of talking cakes I tend to think of the Meanie Cake from the cartoon Showder.
Please, youtube that shit.
Fuck, I meant Chowder.
Loving the art blog. And seeing the early sketches is extra fun. But I could swear that I also, like Kryssi, have tried to reach it before but gotten redirected. Due to a at the time slow browser I’d catch a glimpse of that blog and I’m guessing this is an entirely new one? Because I seem to be remembering an entry named “curious animal” with a picture I can’t seem to find now but it might just be late nights and sleep deprivation combined with a semi-crappy memory that’s playing a trick on me? In any case the art blog is seriously awesome.
Oh, and I guess you told the cake that a blog is a web log?
I used to get the re-direct too. Glad the site is up and running once more. I really enjoy the works posted.

I once found a homeless doughnut in the gutter, i tried to take it home, but its insides started to bleed(it was jelly filled) so i said good day and set it down. I will see you this wednesday in idaho, me and my friends are coming from salt lake to see you guys because you had to move the show, but thats ok, i would travel a thousand miles just to see you guys. Best of luck till then and beyond! gahahahaha, i love pickles and wearing red pants. i'm bored.
cuntlicker
i heart u
Chowder (the cartoon) scares the CRAP out of me. Like Ren & Stimpy scary times four hundred... and twelve.
they play Ren & Stimpy at 3 am where I live...there is no denying, it's definitely one of creepier toons out there.
I remember this one episode where Ren is stuck in a cave for some reason, and he creates a 'friend', much like Wilson in Castaway, made out of dirt and fungus. The whole episode he gradually gets more and more insane...I tell you, it would be a head screw to watch it under the influence.
but anyway.
Not too fond of Chowder, but I used to love Ren & Stimpy. I can still sing Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy and the Log Song. :)
If you want to see a really weird ass new cartoon check out The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. I LOVE that thing. It's really odd and has a mixture of different kinds of animation (okay, so it's probably all done with computers now, but it looks like other mediums at any rate).
Anyway, I too was always redirected when attempting to look at the Oxen blog. I'm really glad it works now. Great work on there! I particularly enjoy seeing the concept sketches...it's always fascinating to me to see how an idea starts out and how it comes to fruition.

... I get bored.
Okay....so this is the sound of my heart breaking after learning that the Tempe show was cancelled.

Shawn, just know that there's people out there that actually love you, without sounding corny.
without sounding corny,
i hope said people love him for his real self, rather than his self he presents to fans, because that is certainly not the "real" shawn and for people to love him for that self would be a lie, because it is merely a facade.
(this is not an attack on shawn, it's just the truth)
Surely, in what false pretences does he actually present himself to fans than to mere mortals who do not deem to be classified within such genres of human?
You fools don't like chowder?
Next you are going to tell me Flapjack creeps you out as well.
Dear Kraken,
Chowder is the fucking shiznit.
the end.
Courage the Cowardly Dog will always be my favorite cartoon, ever.
And about love, I love the Matches for their music. The end.
BLOG FIGHT!
HOLY CRAP COURAGE.
The hole in his tooth always freaks me out.
Also, existential debate about "Real Shawn" is not go. Srsly, not that no one cares, but everyone knowwwwws that.
Discuss instead http://www.greenideasblog.com/images/cute_kitty_3.jpg a kitten.
I have a new kitten that looks like that little dude, only he has more black in his fur.....he's turning out to be my new best friend.
Don't even get me started on inquisitive baked goods...
Amber, oh how I love your taste.
Where did all the insanely dark cartoons and shows go? Am I left wondering that's why they've gone and I'm injured in the brain because of them? Surely.
Courage was one of the best shows to make it into a full series from Cartoon Cartoon.
there's other shows that I don't think I could forget to thank for part of the person who I am today;
- Cow & Chicken.
- Ren & Stimpy.
- Pee Wee's Playhouse.
- Kablam!
- Are you Afraid of the dark?
- Kenan and Kel.
- Rocko's Modern Life.
oh happy happy joy joy at such wonderous shows to warp fragile minds.
that's love right there, much to avert main topics actually discussed within this entry. Hoohayhumhay.
AAAAAAHHHHHHH!......... REAL MONSTERS!
Cow and Chicken was spectacular but I swear to God I had nightmares about Ren & Stimpy. It was sick.
I just found out recently that Tim Burton did Pee Wee's Playhouse and I nearly died of joy (and was like AHA! NOW IT ALL BECOMES CLEAR). Kablam! was/is my favorite freaking show and no one remembers it anymore. Upsetting to an extreme.
... somewhat off topic but the new Scooby Doo shits are a travesty. Where is my poorly animated Fred.
Kablam! Was that the show made up of multiple mini toons? Like, one with an alien and cave man? And I think there was some kind of stop motion one made up with action figures?
Kablam was the bomb, it was a great movement, and it was the one with stop animation, I swear that's one infulence for Seth Green's co-directed show, Robot Chicken, well, the superhero part of Kablam. Oh, how I devour dark cartoons.
I love how this discussion has veered into cartoons. I'm not even sure how it happened, but I'll go with it b/c I love me some cartoons. :)
I have a Courage fridge magnet! Haha. I love it and the cartoon. It's still on tv you know! I just watched it last weekend. And Foster's is excellent also.
Does anyone remember Freakazoid? That show was awesome.
Did anyone ever dig Invader Zim?...
I never really got into Invader Zim. But to anonymous under my comment above, yup! That was Kablam! :D
Foster's is my FAVORITE of the new Cartoon Network cartoons. It's spectacular.
Does anyone remember My Life as a Teenage Robot?
I thought Invader Zim was alright, it was way too overrated though. And now all the little goth mall kids orgasm over all the merch for Invader Zim at their local hot topics (no offence!) I mean, they seem to be always coming out with new merch for that show. Didn't get canceled like 6 years ago?
ANYWHO. Courage is still my most favorite cartoon ever, "Oh, the things I do for love!" ahaha, ah. Love that dog. And his caustic computer, haha. BUT MAN DID I LOVE KABLAM! And Cow and Chicken. AND OH MAN, DEXTER'S LAB, HELL YES. I loved that one too! Haha. Also Angry Beavers. I LOVE angry beavers, it's probably my second most favorite cartoon, ever. "NOOORBERT!" haha, lordy, I am a nerd. I also really loved Rocko's Modern Life, haha. Classic. Mr.Bighead was such a douchebag. They sure don't make cartoons like they used to.
and even though it wasn't a cartoon, I LOVED kenan and kel, ORANGE SODAAAAA. And the "All That!" haha, "totally kyle!" good times man, good times.
where do they go?
Amber, I didn't know that you completed me so well, a-ha.
I loved all those shows that you were talking about. I remember actually winning a competition about 13 years ago or so on Nickelodeon and I won a rocko t-shirt.. if only I still had that.. i'd cut it out and make it onto a new shirt :3
YOU GOT A ROCKO SHIRT? ah, LUCKY! haha! that's so awesome though. As were all those cartoons! The only shirts I ever had were pokemon shirts, haha. Like I said, I'm a nerd. And I remember I was so pissed when digimon came out. I was like, "NO DON'T WATCH IT THEY ARE A TERRIBLE RIP-OFF OF THE REAL POKEMON."
I loved Charmander so much. He was so sweet at first, but then they made him evolve into the bitchy one. I was so angry. ):
and anyone remember Hey, Arnold?
STOOP KID'S AFRAID TO LEAVE HIS STOOP!
Hey, Arnold is my FAVORITE SHOW EVER as evidenced by italics of joy!
I loved the one where he found Helga's diary. Cracked my shit up. Helga in general was pretty spectacular. And the one where they went to go see Carmen and Arnold fell asleep and dreamed they were all in it? I STILL get songs from that episode stuck in my head.
... Which isn't sad at all.
Mhmm!
I loved that shirt so much, I think that's why some of the motif started to fade... or is that just a deja vu of something else I own? Only time shall tell.. However, all this cartoon malarky has actually inspired me to go do some art on t-shirts and on various other mediums... Huzzah.
Hey! Arnold was pretty much one of my favourite shows, too. Helga was such a bratty kid most of the time, but her fondness for him really got me in stitches, with her shrine and what not. Shows you how bad love can hit the best of people.
Did anyone remember how spooky the intro was to Are you afraid of the dark? that was cool though, I often find myself humming the tune.
POKEMON!! I think it got stupid after... the 3rd generation of Pokemon, they've changed Ash's voice so he sounds like he's gone through some slight and uneccessary puberty. Charmander was a dear, like you said, Amber, but why in god's name did Charmeleon have to be such a dickhead? That maybe explains the beginnings of a 'horn' on his head... Damn, I could rant about cartoons all day.
P.S If Shawn reads the latter of all of our comments, he's going to maybe think what a turnaround this has all come to, and there's no bitchyness... quick, fetch me a feather!
Haha, Kryssi, I was just thinking that!
My most prominent memory of pokemon is my friend Jason dicking me out of a holographic Kangaskhan when I first started the trading cards. "Yeah, Growlithe is TOTALLY better!"
Fucker.
Ahhh, dude! Definitely not cool. I remember how retarded some kids were mean and retarded with the Pokemon cards. How it got so out of control that they would get in fights over them and eventually, almost every school banned them.. Cartoons will never be the same again man, I love that darker side of cartoons, the ones that JUST got away with things, just like Ren & Stimpy and sweet ol' Pee Wee. Bring them back, I say!
wow... i wish shawny would post a new blog sometime this millenium.... i thoroly enjoy reading.
Don't worry dear, he will in due time, hopefully. He probably hasn't found himself near a computer, or had the time to write one, being on tour an' all :)
Or no baked goods have spoken to him lately and therefore there is nothing about which to post.
Someone send him a magic danish.
ALSO KRYSSI we have like the same AIM screenname! LOL. Great minds have similar musical taste ;]
tomorrow night baby, tomorrow night!
Ha! We do, how very magical and *ahem* whimsical. I felt slighly stalkerish and added you on your livejournal... though it's not AS creepy now, because I've told you...
just ... don't drink the punch.
I added you back! :D
And I don't actually know what else to say so invisible Tarzan vine!
I, like Shawn, am an extremely busy soul. Yet I, unlike Shawn, have time to sit and focus my thoughts into text and transfer that text to my blog. And for that Shawn I am sorry you do not have the time. The feather floating in your ginormous cranium must have lots to say, and not enough time to say it.
I kid, I kid. Damn you and your popularity in other states.
