Great Success Zooming

All time favorite translation fumble: from the Japanese movie poster for "Legally Blonde 2" with Reese Whitherspoon, released in Japan titled "Cutie Blonde Happy Max".

Off to the Mori Tower to see some art. Finishing Zebrahead's new artwork this week, and just wrapped up There For Tomorrow, Abandin All Hope, finishing Biffy Clyro's single (which'll be released on vinyl which is badass, and the song is even more so), and just sent off a 16x22 3 color poster to Bloom press in Oakland that'll be a hand screened limited edition bit of art for sale at the June CA run of shows, culminating in our hot date with the Fillmore in SF on the 14th. the show flier is a tiny segment of the whole.

From Tokyo with love and seaweed breath, which are not generally bedfellows,

So Matt Whalen is just still Matt Whalen in the background.

Thanks for the video, Ben.

Also Scissors for Lefty is by far the second most appropriate band to tour with the Matches. They are incredible. I love that band. Especially since it's two sets of brothers and they sometimes dress up like reindeer and sing songs about chimpanzees cousins, ginger-snaps, and the coming broom.

Write to your local radio station and ask them to cease playing Wake the Sun so that we may put out our next video. kidding. Yankees will be with us shortly. By all means, don't stop prodding me for it.

That poster is quite neat. I wish I could go to that show, but since I'm on the opposite coast, I don't think I can make it. Darn.

Also, mangled translations are always entertaining. This is my favorite site for them: http://melissamaples.com/category/bazaar/ It's a woman who goes to a Turkish bazaar frequently and takes photos of the bad translations. There are some really funny results.

Well, this Yankee video certainly eases the wait for the official video...just a bit.
=)

Mmm, seaweed (I'm not even being sarcastic). 'Yankee in a Sushi Shop', perhaps?

You guys looked great; you always seem to put all you've got into every performance. That audience looked totally into it.

Australia loves you too! You should drop in while you're on this general side of the globe. Yep, sounds pretty logical.

i think eventually i will road trip across this country of ours and end up in cali in time for a hometown matches show. now that would be something to see however i risk not wanting to go back to home sweet pennsylvania. i just need enough money for gas, food and lodging and maybe a companion or two to help split the costs. this may take a while :/

Random aside - I WISH my local radio station played Wake the Sun. It'd make me a lot more inclined to listen to the radio. I don't give a flying rat fuck whether or not Madonna has four minutes to save the world.

gotta clarify (and thanks for the compliments) -- the fillmore flier is just a 2 inch section of the whole 16x24 poster that will be at the shows. I forgot my password and am too lazy to find it, hence the anonymous post. Haven't done one of those since I posted that one about myself being a sham and a slut, and how this isn't a revolution, but a mere smudge of feces on the world wide web. Who's got time for a revolution when our egos are so thin and starving?

oh, ps- sometimes the obvious must be said in a sea of sarcasm and lobstering. Each one of you is a complex, intelligent, highly inexplicable and fascinating individual, impossible to condense into a demographic or stereotype, and I respect and admire you and your interaction on this blog, and otherwise. I'm not void of an ego- i don't think anyone can claim to be-- but I try to keep that ugly thing in check, because it isn't who I am, and I think that most of us are interested in being here, for just a few minutes a day or week, for reasons deeper than ego. Most of the time.

Ego, those who have reason to be entitled to it, deny it. Yet those who's qualifications are scarce, seem to embrace it fully.

Because I think in images before I can help myself, I immediately associated "sarcasm" with a literal lobster. How cool would that be? A talking, sarcastic lobster. Such a thing should be genetically engineered.

PS yourself - your ego should not be thin and starving, and if it is allow me to nourish it by saying that you are thoroughly amazing. And that your lyrics are spectacular enough to have me singing them on the senior balcony of my school, at least until someone threatens to throw me off of it. =]

Are doppelgangers individuals, too?

You seem to me the type of person who appears busy even when they aren't at all because they're so preoccupied all the time. What do you call relaxing?

I hope you're doing well and having fun.

some random statements before I shift to my other usual sites of daily web browsing:
I enjoy your works of art.
As always, I hope to see the cerillas gents come my way. I've yet to enjoy a great spectacle of your talents in person.
Good luck kickin' it in CA. Shake a hip, or two.
