To Drew

I recorded a fellow at the show tonight in DC who'd learned to sing Chain Me Free backwards. He seemed to have it down, but after flipping it in final cut, the babble was just as unintelligible as pre-flip. His syllables weren't so bad, but the duration of time he held each didn't correlate with the pacing of language. If you have the means and a disposable afternoon, try this or something like it. You will not thank me, but maybe you'll paste a link...

Perhaps it's because I just woke up, but this had me in hysterics. It just caught me off guard.

Also, I have attempted this before. My version, however, was truly awful. Mostly because I cannot sing in tune. Such a shame.

I have to admit anytime I hear this song backwards it makes me smile beyond belief. Not quite sure why, but it just made me like the music all that much more. So needless to say this post has had me smiling all day. More of the backwards technique!

Picture this, a group of encouraging young and aspiring actors sitting at a distinctly brief after school musical rehearsal watching this, then dedicating themselves not to the craft of memorizing "Money, Money" (Cabaret), but yet trying their damndest to say "Chain Me Free" backwards.

Needless to say, the director was not amused.

The tiny screen of just your lips flashed me to the old 80's music video, which contained lips singing, "Lies lies lies baby."

Creepy.

Not everyone's perfect at singing backwards, you damn perfectionist.

Whatever, I will definitely try.
A few weeks ago, I was on the phone with my friend and I started singing in it backwards. She called me a creep, hahaha. This makes me feel slightly less creepy.
(However, I'm sure that my version will be way worst than the guy you recorded)

Hon hon, Monseiur Shawn!

I just really got shockingly nervous because I was learning and practicing for weeks how to do it by watching the making of video for Chain Me Free and...well I was singing it to the incredible genius who did it first.

And I'd love to see me giggling and incoherently dictating nonsense to a man with a fedora and a camera phone JUST FOR SHITS AND GIGGLES. And by the way, I hope your tour manager was kind enough to pass on our handy-dandy free sticker we were given after leaving the show with all 3 of our email adresses on it. Or not.
I WILL PREVAIL!! I learned the drums for it and now the vocals are left to be conquered....BACKWARDS!!

I've actually been practicing it for a while. I sing what I know to my friend when we're bored.

Maybe I'll have what I know good enough, and be able to speak to you without being nervous (unlike last time... where I was pushed... you make me nervous, crazy boy) to sing it to you...
Warning: I've never taken chorus as an elective... so I'm not much of a singer... but I'll do my best. =^D
And, if I just so happen to forget... my best friend that I sing it for often will tape it.
WOOT! I'm glad I'm not the only one. =^]
BTW... people that have heard me do it thank it's cool that you did it (cause I'm copying you so it's not half as impressive.)

BTW...
I'm REALLY jealous of Drew... Because he got a blog just to him.
And not only that... but it had a video in it.
*sniffles*
I guess I just have to be interesting at the show on Tuesday in Charlotte so that you'll remember me and I'll get a blog just to me. =^]

Here is to wishful thinking!...I know. I'm pathetic.

SHAWN!!!!

I can't believe that you're giving away such a treasured relic as your first guitar in an arbitrary contest where the winner is the person who can spam the most forums.

Really...I'm just upset because I'm in 2nd to the guy who also won the SOTY contest.

I tried so hard to sing Chain Me Free backwards. I gave myself a headache, so I stopped... And haven't tried since.

Oh and thanks for making my sister really happy when we say you guys a couple days ago. She kept on saying that you were smiling at her. But I didn't have the heart to tell her that you couldn't see her in the crowd.

Hah.

I'm so excited.
I can't sleep.
I have to get something signed for my friend by you... or she'll kill me... A very painful death. Papercuts until I'm dead... yeah, ouch. Don't make me go through that.
=^]
OK I'm going to calm down and go to bed... maybe...
