Song Snatchers

Dear Thom Yorke,
Here is our "pale imitation with the edges sewn off".

Sincerely,

I like your take on this song alot, but when it comes down to it....It's more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play.

Fantastic. I liked the song before, but I think I love your version even more. Or maybe I'm just biased.

Legitimately good cover. I don't know if I'm being biased or not, I probably am. I love the harmonizing. As always.

Radiohead was getting soft.

You certainly gave it a stronger edge. I really like your version.

(p.s. blog people please don't kill me but I don't think "In Rainbows" is that much of a masterpiece. It's good, but Radiohead has done better. Especially Thom Yorke, listen to Black Swan.)

Brilliant. Typically Radiohead covers weird me out, because really, how do you top Thom Yorke? This, however, was a great cover. Not better than the original, but honestly, it's a Radiohead song, it's a given. xP

This, my friend, is no mere "pale imitation". It is a fantastic cover. I love both this, as well as the original, as seperate but equal entities.

Interesting take on the song. Considering I only found out you existed on 1/4/08 when I got dragged to the AP tour in Boulder (I’m still waiting to find out you’re an April Fool’s joke, you do exist don’t you?), this helped me get a better feel of how you guys deconstruct/construct songs. That and I listened to your albums all day at work today (I have a 4 hour commute so you guys helped me stay awake on the bus), also had an impact. Brilliant stuff!

Needless to say you converted a Brit. Who, just having moved to America, spent ten minutes of your set confused as to if one of you was from the UK as well. Thank you for ten minutes of feeling slightly at home while in a strange country.

Best of luck with everything,

Rain (who does not exist except as a figment of her own imagination and what a strange existence that is)

When I think of Radiohead, I tend to slip back to the time when we heard from Miles The Intern on Live 105.
& they would give him like his little moment each week, I believe it was every monday.
Anyways he always played Radiohead.
Or at least thats what it seemed like, I enjoyed that greatly.
Then again perhaps I was the only one because Miles seems to have vanished.

More than an imitation?
Sometimes hearing and listening become polar.

and some people on YouTube are so harsh!

You gave that song some zest. Not a huge RH fan, but that song sounded pretty good job. Kudos! (it's good to see a new post)

You kids are really good at doing covers. Oingo boingo's violent love is constantly on repeat as well as a band in hope. I'm looking forward to seeing you again.
...and its only been 5 days.

My favorite Radiohead is Creep...
And I don't like many others.
BUT I do love your version of their song.
This website that rips things so you can watch it has a myspace and somehow ended up on my friendslist... and they posted this video in a bulletin. And since it was titled "Radiohead vs. The Matches" I was like "WOOOOOOOOAH! If there is a poll, I'm voting for The Matches!" but no, it was the video... so I jumped for joy.
=^]
Gooooooooood job boys!!!

I also watched the acoustic for Point Me Toward The Morning.

It was the most achingly beautiful thing I've seen in a long time. The heart you pour into it is something both inspiring and true.

What a wonderful rendition you have of this song. But, I'm dying to hear you cover a MUSE song, I think you're one of the best bands to do the job. What do you think?
