This link is your personal gift certificate to a $3 trillion shopping spree:

Or, you could help diminish world hunger...or help the AIDS movement.

I feel that maybe a combination of those two along with a CD player and ONE copy of A Band In Hope per person will suffice. Maybe a translator too for those of other nationalities.

Ich werde du helfen!

Danke,
Emily

I actually have thought about this before, and how much the US is wasting money that could benefit so many people, including supplying the globe with A Band In Hope.

Good to know that other people out there are also aware.
Futile wars are stupid and wasteful.

Kudos to you for posting this.

I'm going to spend the rest of my night on the site. This is amazing.

I have two copies of ABIH in my house. Hows about I buy myself some nice socks that I need?

Or maybe the entire boxed set of Full House?

Or some tissues for my best friend who's suffering a nosebleed?!

I owe you.

What a great idea of a site.

So far I've cured a world disease, ended poverty for a year, bought some pretty sweet shoes, gotten my favorite artist to make an album for me, and bought about 200 copies of a band in hope.

George Bush makes me really sad. Angry too. This site just intensifies those feelings. It's a smart way to show people how much money is being wasted. What's worse is the lives that are being lost and/or destroyed. Our world is basically forever changed because of this administration's deceit and their selfish decisions.

Take that, bill gates.
As well as 4000 dollars worth of a band in hope, and i cured world hunger for a year. I also achieved universal literacy, cured a deadly disease, and bought world peace.

This is a great way to raise awareness for how fucked up things like this are.

Good call with the site, although that is quite a heafty amount of 'a band in hope's'. (wouldn't the cost of making them have to be worked in?)

oddly enough, in my ap gov class we are watching National Geographic's Path to 9-11. I think everyone should watch it at some point because you wouldn't believe how many times the Clinton Administration had chances to stop things from happening but didn't for one reason or other. I wouldn't put the blame of all that has happened on a single man let alone a single administration.

I think if I had 3 trillion dollars I would spend it on all sorts education programs...the worst thing about living today is the amount of "knowledge" people have and yet somehow they still don't get it.

It was surprisingly hard to fill that shopping cart. Even though I did follow up on my belief more people should own your album, and thus somehow ended up putting down almost 2000 copies of it.
I was surprised how many things weren't on there, to be honest. No museums, nothing by Picasso. There are definitely better ways to spend money than war. But I think not enough people think about what they are.

...on a lighter note!

I got home today from yesterday's show.
And I JUST finished uploading all my photos.
...only 5 were of people in other bands. =^]

And that picture of you and me is now my display picture on... everything. =^]

The show was AMAZING.
I've got an amazing story telling how nice some people are!!! =^]
(which was the LAST thing I expected)

So I went to the show in my A Band In Hope Pre-Order shirt, got 3 copies of the AP poster of you boys, and sat in the old-people stands with my old man.
I saw Matt walk by the door we were sitting by so I stood up and ran to him... that boy walks REALLY fast and I missed him... 3 times. -.- (tell him to slow down =^]) Then, Sonny (finally) got off stage. So, I grabbed my old man and said "You're tall, you're comin' with me!" and we went to the side of the stage where you'd enter. You walked by, Jon walked by, Justin walked by, my dad took pictures the girls sitting on the edge took pictures with our camera... Then, ya'll got on stage and said we all smelt like shit then started playing Salty Eyes. Almost made me cry but I thought "NO! You can't cry, your make up will run and then the pictures will end up horrible!" so I was able to hold back. It was BEAUTIFUL! =^] Anyways- So after Salty Eyes, these girls left where they were, and my dad and I got closer. Then, I continued to try to get the whole crowd around me pumped up and jumpin' (Such non-enthusiastic people!) and I was singing along and jumping and acting absolutely insane... then, this girl turned around and said "OH GIRL! You move up, you get as close as you possibly can." (I said thank you) and then she pushed me infront of her. Then she started pushing me forward and people moved out of the way and helped her get me closer. Then, I ended up against the speaker like 5 people away from being at the rail. Then, as I continued my mega dorky fan attitude that is me, this girl saw me trying to take a picture with my phone. So she said "Here, let me help." and she took my phone and took this AMAZING picture. =^] Then, she said "You know what? Here." and she pulled me infront of her and pushed me to where I was only behind 2 people, a boy and his girlfriend. And thats where I was the rest of the show. And before Their City, you turned around and the crowd was like silent... and I took the opportunity and I screamed "I LOVE YOU!" then some of the girls around me screamed "SHE LOVES YOU!" and pointed to me. Big fun, big fun. Then, after the show, I told them all "Thank you!" and I got out and walked to the edge where you were exiting... and then I went and bought some merch. =^]
Well, after a while, Jon came out to the area where all the merch was being sold. So I jumped up and ran to make sure it was him and it was and I got my old man to come with me (cause I'm short... so I couldn't take a picture by holding my arm out and still get both of us in) and I stood so that I could get to him but not be in other people's pictures. And then, this mom saw me, and after her daughter's picture with Jon was taken, she tapped his shoulder and said "Get a picture with her, please, she's obviously a big fan." and he did. =^] And so I didn't have to wait for a bunch of people to get out of my way. =^] (I know, at concerts you can be agressive and get what you want... but I hate when people push me out of my way so I just fill up empty space and I was so happy that the crowd was so nice to me, I was willing to wait for Jon to sign my stuff and take a picture with me again and be really nice =^]) And that was AWESOME. So many people were nice and respectful, it was great. =^]
And then I saw you after the show and you signed my stuff and took a picture with me... because you're amazing. =^]

Did you do an accoustic show afterwards in Charlotte last night? Because my ride was all "lets go get food" (cause we hadn't eaten yet) and wouldn't let me wait to find out. *tear*

In the end, I had an AMAZING night.
The show was so amazing I can't describe it.
You boys took my breathe away (and my voice =^])
And I feel accomplished because I was able to walk up to you without being pushed... which is a first. I mean, I stood in line for 48 minutes last time I met you and still had to get pushed to do it because I was so nervous.
And this time... I just was like "DAD! Camera ready! GO!" and went for it. =^]
Next time... maybe I'll be able to catch you sooner and actually say something meaningful and have a conversation? Thats the goal!
Wish me luck?

aww that was so nice...i cant believe people at a show would switch places with you so you could be closer...people around here just push you outta the way, stand on top of you or basically jump on you...not good...

April 17, 2008 4:07 AM
Blogger Leslie said...

EXACTLY! I was shocked too. Normally I get pushed out of the way cause I'm so short and small that it's pretty easy for taller people to push me out of the way. Sure, I push back... but it doesn't do a lot of good.
So I was shocked and thought I'd share that the concert was amazing not just the show but how nice the crowd was.
Like... I don't have a clue what was going on in their minds but it was absolutely amazing and I was sure to say "Thank you!" a lot to them all. I just hope other people have an amazing experience like that. =^]
...I'd spend $3 trillion to have it happen again.<3
