Lord legless is an oddly familiar term. Maybe spewed before in an interview I've read? Or maybe I'm experiencing a sense of deja vu from a dream of this very article? The questions mount slowly. Their City has inspired almost endless spews of art, thank you for that.

In other news, a local TV station was interviewing a lady who came her to flee the fires of California. Particularly the "Harris" fire. Get this! Her name, oddly (or coincidentally)enough was Eryn Smith. I'm getting ready for David Sedaris LIVE and I'm trying to contain urine from running down my leg onto my dress, I'm laughing so hard.

Yeah, so I was uh...
never mind.
but the over use of the word punk and emo on all websites kinda bugs me.
But whatever, good job. Sure.

Come back to Austin. And come on a friday or something and do an acoustic show in the parking lot. Yeah, I know, lots of demands. But who really listens, right?

Oh, the lights go green...
I love seeing/hearing good things said about you guys!

Though, like "pop-punk", the term "emo" in the article still leaves a bad aftertaste.

But, I love the art...and the shoes!

There's that annoyance of a word again, emo. It's sad that that's what I focus on, honestly, it's a great review, but WHY must journalists continue to be so lazy? I guess "emo" can be used to define ALL rock music now. Great.

Emo aside, I'm really excited to get that CD, "their city" is definitely one of my favorite Matches songs so far, I was so glad I got to see it live.

I don't understand the term "emo". Isn't all music emotional to some extent?

bahahaha. Emo version of "Eye of The Tiger."

Well, no one can say you aren't original.

btw. To all the people that are getting all bent out of shape about the whole 'emo' mention in the article... we all know the matches aren't emo. In fact, I think we can all agree that labeling the matches is like kicking a kitten. The end.

Haha that's kind of what I meant by my post "The emo set?"

The Matches aren't emo.
They are Christian screamo.
Duh.

I can deal with this article but not this emo nonsense.
And emo is a subculture, just because a shortened version of emotional is its name doesn't mean anything, the fact that they put The Matches in a subculture that is becoming way too popular (and disliked) is not accurate.

I think my dad has turned into a big fan of yours.

Today he utilized his favorite Matches lyric again:

"She's got a lot of issues like a good magazine"

Its really cute that he does this all the time... but a little disturbing as well only because i don't know if he's familiar with the lyrics that directly follow.

"... like the kind you'd find under my bed if you know what i mean."

I don't think i have the heart to tell him.

How come the week I'm internet-less (due to mid terms that I barely passed, if passed at all, a feild trip to a place 3 hours away, at the least, where condom balloons were made by a pot head which reminded the two [my red headed friend and myself] who have been to Warped Tour of Warped Tour, French teachers got angry, and nicknames were givien, my laptop being stupid, and getting two books in the mail) is the week that there are 2 posts? I have the worst luck. *tear*
Anyways-
"we all know the matches aren't emo. In fact, I think we can all agree that labeling the matches is like kicking a kitten"
Haha, so true.
If I HAD to label The Matches, emo would be the LAST thing on my list. It is the most degrading of all labels, if you ask me. Think of it... it's a cliche. Everything about it is wrong. It's like that Emo Song. "You'd be noncomformist too if you look just like me." (aka- my favorite line of it) Why? Because EVERYTHING is labeled emo these days. They say "They say heart. They're emo." or "They say hurt, they're emo" it's horrible! They are saying that all the musicians are sell outs and that none are unique. When The Matches are unique. If I did have to label them I'd probably label them... amazing. Cause each song is different, each song is unique, and everyone has their favorites with their favorite lines. Like I LOVE Jack Slap Cheer for the opening "C-c-conversations with my bathroom mirror..." because it's cute and funny. My friend loves it for the whole "This town gets so boring when you're not scoring." part. Each listener is unique. And then you can't compare E. Von Daul Killed The Locals to Decomposer because they are SO different. Salty Eyes and Dog-Earred Page are two COMPLETELY different songs. Sooo yeah... this comment is getting longer than it was meant to be because I'm explaining that the Matches are amazing not emo but whatever.
And I suppose amazing is a cliche too... so me and my friend say "awesomazing." which is awesome and amazing combined. So yeah... THATS what the Matches are. Awesomazing. To good for Awesome or Amazing. And trust me, my friend and I don't just throw around words like that. =^]

NOW for what I think of the article.
Fantastic!!! More articles make me happy!!! Like the ones in AP that make me melt. =^] I love it all.
Come to NC soon so I can like... give you a hug or a high five or something to congradulate you! =^D
Well... and so I can see my favorite band live, again... =^]

OH! And I was watching The Show Must Go Off (of course the one for The Matches... since I am talking about seeing you and such) and I was watching the bonus footage and it made me want to just hang out with you 4 even more. Justin reminds me SO much of my friend Goose (real name David) and Jon reminds me of my other friend Cody and then Matt reminds me of my best friend Rachel... and you remind me of a smarter, more attractive, male version of me! =^D It's awesome.
