I ran across this the other day, and I didn't imagine their registration of the site would expire so soon... was really looking forward to sharing this one with you guys.

Our mission is to spread God's love and message to non-Christiansand to encourage fellow Christians via God's music. We realize that God has been so generous in providing our church with talents, money, equipment, and space to allow for the existence of The Matches, but we also realize that not too many churches have the same resources. Jessica and I would like to say that this is old news, son. We saw that a long time. Very interesting. Also, I know we said we weren't going to post whilst drunk, but we are at our friends house and I am bored...
Oh btw, did you ever get a parking ticket on Saturday? We saw cops giving tickets, so we were curious.

Okay, so I'm not sure how much sense my last comment made. I was just reading it over again because I can't sleep and I have 2 people snoring in my ear, and I don't even get it. I just meant to say that we actually saw that site awhile ago and thought it was interesting.

Well, I find the existance of another band of Matches very useful. You see, the next time my overzealously religious father starts nagging me, asking, "What are you listening to? Is it that pagan music again?" I can calmly tell him, No, I'm listening to The Matches, look them up, www.thematches.org," and he'll never know it's a different bunch of Matches, he'll just be content thinking I'm listening to a band charged to perform through the Holy Spirit!
It is ironic though that they're from the Bay area. And I agree, you should use their biography.
Also, I think you should go witness the other Matches in action, and report back to us about the experience. That would be entertaining. Who knows, perhaps you'll love their music so much that you'll be inspired to join them!

Sorry for spamming your comments, but now that I'm more awake now, I remembered something that happened to me yesterday, that you might get a chuckle from, as it somewhat relates to this post subject.
Yesterday, I was at my dad's house, on my laptop. My desktop photo is one from the Salty Eyes video shoot; it's the one with the TVs arranged so they say "you do belong." My dad came up behind me as I sat on the couch, and he asked me what the photo was. I told him it was from a music video, and he was like "YOU DO BELONG...YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD!" and walked away, as I sat there, horrified, and my stepbrother looked at me awkwardly.
I guess you are just as inspiring as your Cantonese counterparts.

I enjoy the little graphic of the men (portrayed as tiny matches)with their heads aflame. It's artistic and slightly eerie. But kudos to the person who said to themselves, "for our religious site, lets draw people on fire!!"

24 comments in about 18 hours is rather impressive for a little band formerly known as the Locals. There is absolutely no need to be known as the band that became entangled in an extensive and unnecessary legal battle with a Christian singing group as well.

so when u posted this i remembered the site but more importantly i reemembered that i saw the video of one of there rehearsal's when i searched the matche sin quotes a long time ago (no pun intended haha). i looked again but the video was gone and nowehere to be found. yet it turned up again 2day. here is their rehearsal.
