Smells Like Screen Spirit

A fellow writes a book, 'cause them words are just too pretty to get lost in the air. Then a chowderhead such as myself thinks this book worthy of ink and tree, so puts a few pixels on a screen about it. Will these pixels be lost to the ether? The inter-? The vacuum? I urge you to trade pixels with me and my bookworm band friends on Spin.com's book club forum.
Kurt would have wanted it that way.

No, not Cobain.
So it goes.

I really want and need to start following on that with you guys...
I feel so left out, haha.
So, I went to that forum, once again it was full of porno ads. What are you wanting us to look at Shawn?! Hahaha.

I'll lurk around anyways :)
But, you are very far ever being from a chowderhead my love.
I may be thinking I'm allowed to say my love because I'm ODing on gatoraid, by the way.

So I leave that no secret.
Oh, and I love that the bunnies are back, I have missed them.

:)

I haven't read Cat's Cradle yet but I will get on it as soon as I'm done reading something else (I'm one of those ninnies reading ALL the Palahniuk novels for a reasonI have yet to determine to myself).

I can't understand why my friends hate books and reading so much...oh well. It's their loss not mine.

Much love!

I read one of the stories from Jesus' Son (Emergency) in a class I was taking, and it ended up being one of my favorites, so I read the entire collection, and then, tah-dah! It's the in the book club! I was incredibly excited.

And Kurt Vonnegut lived about 7 miles from me in the tranquil population 500 town of Alplaus, and apparently was involved with the fire department, in some way, shape, or form.
The entire town, including myself, was utterly distraught when he passed.

I wrote a list today of around twenty three books that I'll be searching my second hand book store for tomorrow, and its funny you wrote about Cat's Cradle because thats one on my list.
Although I think I'll be more into finding Chuck Palahniuk & Hunter S. Thompson books.

I went to the forum, and unless I want to see hot pictures of Alyssa Milano, there's not much on there. It would be nice to have a place to talk with other people that actually read. Alas, there's no real discussions on there about the book.

If anyone here hasn't already, I'm going to reccomend reading Diary by Chuck Palahniuk.

It's powerful, it's witty, it's grotesque at times, and it's a must-read for any artist.

I've been meaning to give it a re-read since I picked painting back up, and share the book with a friend.

Well, they're in luck. I need another book to read before I go insane.

I forgot to bring Devil in the White City from my dad's. It's about Dr. H. H. Holms and Daniel Burnham during the Chicago Columbian Exposition of 1893. Which is when they built what is now Soldier Field and... the museum of Science and Industry, I think. Probably the Field Museum too. I don't remember.

Of course, I'm a Chicago kid.

I need to pick up some of these books though. They sound interesting.

I'm not sure if I can express how utterly fantastic I think the above quoted sentence is without saying something cliche or cheesy, so I won't try. Slacker, ftw.
