Dave Smallen of Street to Nowhere and I went to the Spin.com offices in NYC to shoot a short promo to be aired on the web in hopes of reigning people in to the intrigue of spin.com's new book club, by showcasing an enjoyable dialogue, therefore expelling the viewer's fear of a pretension festival. We ulimately proved zero prentension by failing by all means to sound remotely intelligent on camera. Nothing reduces a vocabulary to cromagnon grunts more than a red LCD "recording now" light. Come speak with us on the forum in the comfort of your lack-of-mind-crippling red light at spin.com/bookclub, if you're feelin' saucy.

I think any pretension that may have come through in the interview will be much overshadowed by that extremely goofy picture of you and Dave haha
Don't worry, I think it's difficult to everyone to sound intelligent on camera. I know for a fact that the few times I've been on camera, I've made an absolute fool of myself.
Haha I really want that promo. And I read Jesus' Son. I thought it was incredible. I believe I finished it in one night, I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next reccomendation.
i am so thrilled by this book club, as it seems that soo many people do not read good books any more, i also find it really weird that the day before i read the recommendation of 'Jesus' Son' i had just gone out and bought the book, i read the book twice front to back in two days, and even wrote an assignment on it. but i cant wait to see the next book!
I really would discuss the book on the forum, but if only- if only it wasn't flooded from all the tributaries of "Lindsay Lohan in fishnets at a dock doing anything but fishing, with a vibro!"
Wasn't the next book "Tropic of Cancer" by Henry Miller? I have both the aforementioned and "Tropic of Capricorn." If those books don't make you want to have sex in a bathroom and consume copious amounts of drugs, I don't know what will. Amazing writings...
Hahaha I'm sure your front-ass helped alot in making the situation serious!
I do find it a tad ironic that you guys get ambushed by pirates in the end though by the way.
I didn't even know there was a spin.com forum!
Though after looking around on there, doesn't look like many other people do either.
Mostly all I found was porn ads, I'm feelin' saucy, but not that saucy!
I sent that before it was supossed to send.
Those pictures look incredibly familar.
:)
P.S. Peter from spin.com looks like he need some moisturizer, and could use some shoes.
Well my dear Shawn, did you use the word "saucy" while on camera?
If so, you're guarenteed 100 intelligent points.
atleast from me.
that movie was weird..."Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead," that is.
I love the Hamlet reference, plus that movie about those two is hilarious.
Consistency is all I ask
Immortality is all I seek
Give us this day our daily week
How did he get the dubious joy of being Guildenstern?
On a crippling sidenote, have you then seen Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead? If not, you must. Immediately.
Thast has to be one of the most awersome pictures. The book club is such a good idea. I love ut. Maybe you will get people to read again. Also great job in AP.
are you sure that you are rosencrantz and he's guildenstern? how do you know it's not the other way around?
Tee hee! Shawn gets to be Gary Oldman!
